When acrylics came on the scene as an srtists' medium in the 1960's they were immediately taken up and exploited by commercial artists and illustrators. Some of the advantages and visual efects so discovered seemed to be adaptable to landscape which is where and when I started to use the medium. I evolved a method of working a painting on site to a state of completion–studio painting is something else

The theme of the evening's presentation willl be–to look at work painted at varied locations: see how the medium behaves and demonstrate (albeit indoors) techniques for various elements of the landscape.

I have used the medium exclusively over these decades for life and indoor subjects as well as landscapes. Acrylics can be used in 'mixed media' treatments and combined with Alkyd to become an oil painting.
